Smitty was like a son to me and a great friend to Michael. He has left us too soon but we will all meet up again. Thanks for the great times and for always coming by when you were in Florida. I will always cherish the memories and my heart goes out to Gail.
Love Bubba and Michael

As I left my friend yesterday at his final resting place I walked away sad but also with ease knowing that I will see him again.
After 40 plus years of friendship I will miss him dearly, the laugh, the smile, our rides to nowhere. But one thing for sure, he wont be forgotten. I will keep him alive and well with stories and memories that will go on for ever waiting to be shared with others.

Thank you Gail thank you Jake, I was proud and honored to be a part of his final load out....

Smitty was a kind soul. He always found a reason to laugh, even when things were bad. He was a big part of my life as a friend and a union brother. His spirit will be missed in every city we visit. I hope that Smitty will keep an eye on us, on the road with the Lion King / Gazelle Tour.
My thoughts and prayers go to Gail and the family. PEACE

Our prayers are with you and the family Gail. If I can be of any help please let me know.

I knew Smitty through my brother Bobby Murphy. Bobby just thought the world of Smitty and I can see why he was a great guy, sadly missed, thoughts go out to you Gail and his family.

It was always fun to work with Smitty on a broadway. He will be very missed from his brothers and sisters at IATSE - Local 12 and his touring broadway family. R.I.P. Brother Smith
