Smitty was like a son to me and a great friend to Michael. He has left us too soon but we will all meet up again. Thanks for the great times and for always coming by when you were in Florida. I will always cherish the memories and my heart goes out to Gail.

As I left my friend yesterday at his final resting place I walked away sad but also with ease knowing that I will see him again.
After 40 plus years of friendship I will miss him dearly, the laugh, the smile, our rides to nowhere. But one thing for sure, he wont be forgotten. I will keep him alive and well with stories and memories that will go on for ever waiting to be shared with others.
Thank you Gail thank you Jake, I was proud and honored to be a part of his final load out.

Smitty was a kind soul. He always found a reason to laugh, even when things were bad. He was a big part of my life as a friend and a union brother. His spirit will be missed in every city we visit. I hope that Smitty will keep an eye on us, on the road with the Lion King / Gazelle Tour.

I knew Smitty through my brother Bobby Murphy. Bobby just thought the world of Smitty and I can see why he was a great guy, sadly missed,thoughts go out to you Gail and his family.

To the Smith Family, I want to send love and prayers.Smitty was truly a great man.He always found a way to turn a bad situation into at least half way decent. He touched and helped so many people. I've seen him go out of his way to bring a smile to a hotel maid or a bus driver or even help out a stage hand thats down on their luck.He taught people rather than discourage and always had a smile for you even in the face of great difficulty. I will miss him very much and so will many, many people.

My condolences to The Smith Family It saddens me to hear about Scott. Over the years we would run into each other he would always share kind words about my sister Jane and it meant a lot to me... As I write this I'm looking down on a scar on my finger where he bit me when we were kids in the old neiborhood! ;-) It has always brought him to my thoughts and will till the day The Lord takes me home! So hard to believe you are gone. I have known you my entire life. You have been like a brother to me and I am so thankful for that! Two of the most beautiful people I've ever known . . .and probably will ever know, were smitty and his beloved brother Terrance. Both ripped from our lives way . . too soon.
