Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Dubrow was my 7th grade English teacher at GWHS in 1964. She was a very good teacher. She taught us proper english, like how to say ," Coupon and not Qoupon".

I just found this out; Mrs Dubrow was our class sponsor (79) and she was a classy woman and very caring. She was largely responsible for me getting my act together my last two years at GWHS and graduating with decent grades. God bless her family and her memory.

In 1972 we did an all faculty cast of the comedy, "Solid Gold Cadillac". Selma had a staring role. I, as a senior, was on the stage crew, but had to fill in for a part not casted. I had to change from by back stage clothes to o. Stage clothes. I chose the room closest to change in. So happened Selma was going to use that room. The comedy was not only on stage but back stage also. Selma and her husband Bernie, wete family friends and their loss was particularly difficult for me. I am so glad...

I remember Mrs. Dubrow so fondly! I was a student in her summer Shakespeare camp from 1991-1996 at Holy Family. She cast me in the roles of Macbeth, Ophelia, the ghost in “Hamlet,” Casca, and MacDuff. I am proud to say that I was probably the only eight-year old Macbeth in the world in 1991. Mrs. Dubrow inspired me to value literature and the performing arts. I recently finished a Ph.D. in German literature. My research partly involved learning about the famous Shakespeare revival in...

My condolences to all who love and will miss the world's best English teacher. I never knew her outside of the classroom, but for that experience, I am immeasurably grateful. Throughout my college years and teaching career, she was never far from my thoughts.

GWHS ‘84 - Mrs Dubrow was my 11th grade English teacher. She made the classics come alive with her dramatic flare. She was a demanding teacher and mentor who brought out the best in us. One has some many teachers along their educational journey but few leave as much an impression or collection of recallable memories as Mrs Dubrow. I also had the pleasure of being directed by Mrs. Dubrow in GWHS’s theater productions of Guys and Dolls, A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum. I can...

Hands down the best, most influential teacher I ever had in the Philadelphia school system (or ever!). She influenced me in too many ways to list here; suffice it to say if I had not had her English class I would not be the person I am today, and that is the greatest gift a teacher can give. I was delighted to reestablish contact with her a few years back (shortly after her husband passed) and we talked for a while. She was still active then. She was always active, a force of nature.

Mrs. Dubrow was my English teacher and Class Sponsor (1972). I am so glad to know that she lived a long and happy life, as I am sure she touched and shaped the hearts and minds of many students. I remember her as full of energy and warmth, and her smile was as big as her personality. She was an excellent teacher. I've kept her image in my head over the years, as I have occasionally looked at my yearbook. She looks as beautiful in the photo on this page as she always did. May her memory be a...

An excellent teacher that I remember from Woodrow Wilson Junior High sixty years ago. Selma also directed me in the school's Dramatics Club production where I played a hillbilly and strummed a guitar on stage. I'm pleased to see that she had a good life. Deepest sympathy to her family.
