Not sure what to say?

Rest in Peace my friend. If it were not for your encouragement to continue my education I would not be where I am today. Thank you for taking care of my best friend for the last 20 years. Your partnership with her brought the three of us together. We shared many laughs and sorrows over dinners and road trips. I will never forget your kindness to me and my children. I will miss you.

Professor Karkhanis you were such a sweet man and wonderful person. May you RIP.

You will be greatly missed not just by us but your God daughter and you have been a wonderful partner and looked after my mother for many years. We will never forget you. Rest in peace.

You have been a wonderful Godfather and will be missed but not forgotten.

God Bless you for your service to the Library Profession & Asian Pacific American communities.

Sharad Karkhanis visiting York College in 2011

Dr. Karkhanis was one of the founders of APALA, the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association, and was that organization's first President (1980-1982). He was also President of the Library Association of the City University of New York (LACUNY) from 1967-1969. Sharad worked behind-the-scenes to help both individual CUNY librarians and library faculty as a whole. He will be greatly missed.

He was such a good man. He always was interested in helping others. I was honored to be his friend and I will miss him.
