Sharon Kennedy Luke

1943 - 2021

Sharon Kennedy Luke passed away on April 10, 2021 at the age of 77. She was born on May 26, 1943 in Galveston, TX, though she later moved to New Orleans in 1945. She worked for both F.W. Dodge and Home Depot each for ten years and was a 1961 graduate of Ursuline Academy (Merry Macs). She loved gardening, sewing, reading, and birds and received the title of St. Tammany Parish Master Gardener in 2004. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claudia Murphy Jahncke and Earl Ethel Kennedy, and her grandparents, Peter "Papa" Francis and Claudia "Nana" Murphy. She is survived by: her sons, Albert, Thomas (Karen), and Robert; her sister, Kathy Matthews; her brother Patrick Kennedy (Tracy); and her granddaughter, Alexa. The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Forest Manor for their loving and tender care. Visitation will be held on Monday April 19, 2021 from noon until 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Catholic Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
