Not sure what to say?

Shelby & I grew up together in Waskom. Texas where we was both born. Both of
our families later moved to Shreveport,
La. where we remained close friends.
Shelby eventually moved from Shreveport
to start into the music field. We did
reconnect recently and we send our love
and sympathy to his family members and
regret this big loss to their family.

As one of the owners of CAMP Marketing, I had the great honor of meeting with Shelby on several occasions during the last year. He was
gracious and very interested in our efforts to market the Sun Records line of products on his behalf. Though myself and my business partners were awed by the history in the music industry that Mr. Singleton embodied, we were equally impressed at how down to earth he was and how easy he was to talk with. So sorry for your family's loss. Though we never got to know Shelby Jr., we did know and love his Mom and Dad (my great aunt and uncle). We kept up with your family through them and our Mom (Elanora "Pankey" Marcantel). Please accept our condolences.

Our prayers and thoughts are with your family.

Sue & David Radford and Family

I was very sad to hear of Shelby's passing. I worked as an engineer at Sun Records many years ago and was proud to have known him. There were many times at the "kitchen table" that he shared his stories and wisdom of the industry with many of us. I consider myself fortunate to have gained from that wisdom. My prayers condolences to John, Sid and Steve, and Shelby's entire family.

Mary, Sidney, Steve, & Stewart, sorry to hear about Shelby's passing. He was a good man and my first cousin. He will be missed by many. Love to you all.

My prayers go out to the family and may God bless you all. Iwas free lancing in Shreveport in the 1950's playing fiddle and played a session on Margies first 45 record. I lost track them though the years when I came to Abilene Texas and opened the Ponderosa Ballroom. May he rest in peace.

Steve and Sid i'm sorry for the passing of you'r dad.Let you'r mother, and Sue know I'm thanking of them. Sharon Robbins Grand Prairie,Tx.

My special thanks to Shelby, John and all. I had a record out on Plantation in 1973 (?) Although, it was not a hit, I had many happy days there with everyone. We'll miss you, Shelby.
