Shirley was a wonderful light in our painting classroom at the 92nd ST Y. As one of her fellow classmates, Joan, remarked, it was a good day when Shirley arrived. Shirley was a dedicated and focused artist. As she painted late into her life she continued to be an adventurous spirit with her work. I miss her, her paintings, her quiet, smart and thoughtful demeanor. We all share in our love for Shirley and the long beautiful life she lived.
