Along with Mary and Chas, I went out to dinner with Shirley when she was almost 100 years old. Not many go out to dinner with somebody who was already an adult when cars came in one color -- black, a paved road was very rare, a telephone was a luxury, and if you wanted to talk to somebody, you usually had to show up at their front door.
