Shirley Labbee

April 25, 1931 - February 28, 2023 Shirley Mae (Papin) Labbee, of Riverside, Ca, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the age of 91. Shirley was born April 25, 1931 in Virginia, Minnesota to Stanley and Lillian Papin and had one brother Richard Papin. Shirley also has a half-sister Denise (Papin) Schroeder of Oklahoma. Shirley and her family moved to Inglewood, California in 1942. She graduated from Inglewood High School, and then set out on an adventure with her best friend Fayette Watson. They traveled the country living in places like Chicago and San Francisco. Shirley owned and operated many bars and cocktail lounges in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Palm Springs. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting her guns. She finally settled in Riverside where she went to school to get her Real Estate License. Shirley sold properties throughout Riverside County. She finally met her soulmate Donald Labbee, whom she married in 1979. Together they explored Idaho in their motorhome. Shirley loved spending time with her dog Rosie, her family and listening to Elvis Presley. Shirley is survived by her niece Courtney Papin Willingham (Thomas) of Riverside, her half-sister Denise (Papin) Schroeder of Oklahoma, cousin Don Smith of Virginia, her best friend Fayette Watson of Oregon, and extended family. Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Shannon Conroy, her husband Donald Labbee and her brother Richard Papin. A funeral service for Shirley will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504.
