Shirley and I became fast friends in 1976 while members of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Reno, NV. She was the epitome of a Christian wife and mother. I longed to be like her, dedicated to God first, and everything else second. We kept in close touch as they moved from Reno to Texas, and ending up in Indiana.
