Shirley M. Mang, age 89, of Chesterton, Indiana/formerly of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, with family by her side. She is survived by her children, Chip (Wendy) Mang and Robin (Nate) Lewis; grandchildren Cody Mang, Hunter Mang, Alexandra (Kyler) Kimble and Grant (Emily) Lewis. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Mang.
Shirley left a lasting impact on all the people she came in contact with. She was a lab technician at the Hammond Clinic prior to becoming a reading teacher within the Lake Central School District. As a loving grandmother, she was called upon many times to help with the grandchildren.
Shirley and Jerry’s remains will be buried at St. Michaels Cemetery in Schererville. The date is pending at this time. A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned but not yet finalized. Please check www.solanpruzinfuneralhome.com for updates.
