Shirley Mang Obituary
CHESTERTON, IN - Shirley M. Mang, age 89, of Chesterton, Indiana/formerly of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, with family by her side. She is survived by her children, Chip (Wendy) Mang and Robin (Nate) Lewis; grandchildren Cody Mang, Hunter Mang, Alexandra (Kyler) Kimble and Grant (Emily) Lewis. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Mang.
Shirley left a lasting impact on all the people she came in contact with. She was a lab technician at the Hammond Clinic prior to becoming a reading teacher within the Lake Central School District. As a loving grandmother, she was called upon many times to help with the grandchildren.
Shirley and Jerry's remains will be buried at St. Michaels Cemetery in Schererville. The date is pending at this time. A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned but not yet finalized. Please check www.solanpruzinfuneralhome.com for updates.
Donations can be made in Shirley's memory to VNA Hospice of Northwest Indiana, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.

Fred and I are so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a wonderful,caring and helpful neighbor of ours for many years in Schererville. She will be missed.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Mang Family. May Shirley rest in eternal peace beside Her Beloved Husband, Jerry. Let perpetual light shine upon Her Forever. I met Shirley, when she was so kind to make a bouquet of Roses out of currency for my daughter's birthday many years ago. What a special gift to give my daughter and She designed it.
She was a very "sweet" and "gentle" lady. She is amongst the Angels now perhaps making Special Handmade Roses for Our Blessed Mother & Saints.
My Sincere Condolences to the family. I just lost my husband two weeks ago the day before Shirley's Passing, both shall be missed immensely. May God Bless You Today, Tomorrow, and Always. With Love, Marcia Ulan <3
