Shirley Kiger Shahan

1935 - 2024

Shirley Kiger Shahan, 89, of Amity, passed away at 1:19 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in the Donnell House, Washington, PA. She was born March 15, 1935 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late S. Daws Kiger and Mildred Fox Kiger. Shirley was a longtime member of the North Ten Mile Baptist Church, and since 2003 had faithfully attended Abundant Life Baptist Church in Washington, where she enjoyed volunteering for the church. She worked for 19 years in Nutritional Services at Washington Hospital as a dietary aide, retiring in 2000. Her husband: Kenneth Shahan, Jr. whom she married on November 24, 1951 died October 18, 1980. Surviving are her beloved son: Danny (Annie) Shahan of Washington, one granddaughter: Melissa Rae (Jamie) Rump of Washington, two great-granddaughters: Michaela Rae Phillips and Selena Marlene Phillips and two great-great-grandchildren: Aubree and Lika Lehman, all of whom she adored. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law, Linda Jackson; one brother, Kinsey (Carol) Kiger of Washington; one niece, Pattie (Larry) Staggers; and one nephew, Chris Kiger; and two great nieces. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M.
