Shirley Tank Obituary
Dallas - Shirley M. Tank, 85, was born on 9/17/32 in Ecorse Michigan and died on 7/29/18 in Dallas Oregon.
Shirley grew up in Escondido California with her parents Edgar and Ellen Sherill, moving to Oregon as a young girl and attending Cottage Grove High School until graduation. She met Richard Tank during high school and they were married June 17, 1955 in Walker Oregon and had two children.
Shirley was a beautiful, caring person who loved everyone she encountered from animals to children, co-workers, those she cared for, in-laws not to mention family, friends and even acquaintances ~ she fully engaged in life and spent her time here as a very positive influence on everyone who had the honor of her company.
Shirley endured significant challenges in her life and most compelling over the past several years were immense medical and health challenges, and with each obstacle placed in front of her overcome with grace. Her medical team consisted of a phenomenal Primary Care Physician, Neils Pedersen, M.D., as well as many Specialists who each played an integral part in her ongoing medical care.
Shirley loved her family, especially her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, any and all social events and vacations and her faith.
Shirley is survived by her Sisters; Jean Robinson and Carrie Wallace; children Katherin Pestrikoff (George) and Theodor Tank (Debbie); Grandchildren Justin Tank and Bailey Tank; Great-Grandchildren Brady Tank, Madyson Tank and Tyler Ouderkirk as well as many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Ellen Sherrill, and her husband Richard Tank as well as many dear friends.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on August 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Dallas Retirement Village, 377 NW Jasper St Dallas Oregon 97338 in the chapel. Following the service, there will be a continuing celebration with BBQ at the pavilion located on the grounds.
