SIDNEY BOYD SAVAGE
On Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Fairfax Hospital. Beloved wife of Stuart Savage; loving mother of Suzanne Savage, Stephanie Savage and Stuart Savage, III; grandmother of Heidi Rizzo, Patrick and Katherine White; great-grandmother of Zoe, Josephine, Jack and Nicholas Rizzo and Maximilian Stuart White. Services and interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400, Fairfax, VA 22030, www.alz.org/nca. This comes so late, but I just learned of the deaths of dear Sidney and Stu. They were both good people, and Sidney was lovely, elegant, and a true delight. She was a guest on our cable access show, WomanSide, several times and a passionate advocate for literacy. We also knew them both through local Dem politics and Dr. Nguyen. We are so sorry to learn of the loss of Sidney and Stu. They will be missed, but not forgotten. Sending loving thoughts, hugs, and condolences to their family.

Sidney took me under her wing when I began my first job at the Literacy Council. She had enormous vision and energy and wit. My condolences to her family. The world has lost a very great lady, in the truest sense of the word.

I had a privilege styling Sidnys beautiful hair for the past 3-4 years.I enjoyed listening to her stiries about her growing up years, how she and Stu met and fell in love and lived all over Europe even in my country, Yugoslavia.I loved her sense of humor. I'll miss her.

We will miss Sidney in our salon. She always had a great spirit around her but she did like to give Stew a hard time. They made the cutest couple and he was always very kind to her. Sidney had alot of love around her. She will be missed.

Sidney was a mentor and a great friend to me when I joined the Fairfax Democratic Committee in 1989. I'll always cherish her guidance and council as I was getting my start in politics. My thoughts go out to her family and her many friends.
