Simon Yeh

Simon and I were compatriots in grad school. We both started and finished at the same time, and both worked in the Meares Chemistry Lab at UCD. He was a pleasure to work with, and ultimately I spent a large slice of my professional career working with the chemistry that he and David Sherman had developed in the Meares Lab. Simon and I kept in touch over the years, and I know that his family was very important to him. My condolences to Liz and JoAnna. Simon lives on in our hearts and memories...

Simon was a senior graduate student about to get his PhD when I joined the Meares lab at UC Davis in 1979. I remember him as kind, thoughtful and soft spoken, generous with his ideas, gently delivered. Simon had a good sense of humor too. I saw him last in 2018 at a lab reunion dinner. He and his smile will be missed.
