SOM HANDA Obituary
SOM P. HANDA (Age 85)
From Fairfax, VA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Som was a fighter, an athlete, a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and best friend. Som held a Masters Degree in Political Science and worked for Intelsat in Washington, DC. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his time gardening, playing golf and cheering on his grandchildren at their various school and sports events.Som is survived by loving wife, Sudarshan to whom he was married 59 years; his daughter, Poonam and her husband, Hunter; sister, Sudesh Puri and husband, Niranjan Puri and family, nephew, Virender Bhatia and wife, Roopa and family; and his grandchildren, Jack and Maddie Wilson and Kylie and Quinn Handa to whom he was devoted and loved with all his heart. Predeceased by son, Sundeep Handa, A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 16, 1 p.m. at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
