I am Bobbie's sister, Karen. I remember Steve and Bobbie's wedding. She was so beautiful and they were so happy. Steve was wonderful to Bobbie, so patient, kind and loving. They loved ball games, their vacations and family gatherings. They would come to Dad and Renaun's house and Steve and dad would swap jokes and funny stories and just laugh and laugh. Steve is my first cousin and for many years we shared memories and music on our Grandpa Craven's birthday on or near April 14. He was one who always added an extra level of "life" to our annual 'Cousins Party'. We are a very small group now and will miss being together. I've known Steve for 40 years and he was truly one in a million. He knew how to turn difficulties into positivity. The obituary mentions his gunshot wound, but how many people turn such tragedy into positivity and bonding opportunities? You have never truly bonded with someone until they have invited you to touch the soft spot on their head (where there should have been skull). Steve was the kind of person who made life's difficulties bearable. I changed jobs and moved so it has probably been 55 years since I last saw him but I still remember his beautiful smile, corny jokes, and inexhaustible patience. I grew up listening to popular music through the 1950's and 1960's and I think he is the only person I know who recognized the words to more songs than I did.
