Dr. Ayres -- I always called him "Steve," but the respect was there and his naturalness always recognized and returned respect through casual appreciation without regard for the formality -- more than anyone made my career. When I met him, I was an assistant professor struggling to find myself. What a wonderful man! And how fortunate you had each other over all of these years. I know you will miss him terribly but we know he has gone on to a life free of anything but goodness. Sister Nancy, was a very sweet sister. Me and my family will miss her very much. Thank God we had the opportunity to meet her and to see her just before we moved to Florida. Our most sencere condolences to all the family.
