Not sure what to say?

I only learned of Stephen's passing while searching for old friends online. Stephen and I worked together years ago, back in the late 70's in Tucson. He was a remarkable young man, I have always remembered him with fondness. My prayers are with all of you, Stephen's family and friends. Warm memories. He was a very special person, I will never forget him.

Stephen and I worked together for over two years at TIAA. Despite is crunchy exterior, he was kind and well respected. He was always open and honest, and would forwarn me of things to come when no one else would. He will be missed.

Betty Lou and Val. was so sorry to hear about Stephen, any child has to be a terrible loss. Just wish I knew the right words or the right thing to do to help you. You will be in our prayers. Nell Baird

Betty Lou & Val Demarco. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. I did not know Steve but I can only imagine how much he meant to the two of you. My sister lost her son Michael last year and has had a very difficult time getting over the loss, if she has gotten over it. Thank God for the good memories you have and know that you can look forward to seeing your son again. You are in my thought and prayers Alta Stone Blair

There’s still emptiness in the office without Stephen. His presence has truly been missed. I met Stephen when he joined TIAA-CREF in Charlotte NC and we both relocated around the same time to the Dallas TX office. We would often compare adjustments to the move and how things progressed in our personal lives. It goes without saying but Stephen gave his all, and then some, in all that he pursued. And although he often projected an intense, professional, strong-minded persona, there was...

I first met Stephen in July 2007 when he sat next to me as I took my first phone call at TIAA-CREF. He was patient, supportive, instructive, and laughed heartily when I told him the buttons moved, when I couldn't find something (of course they hadn't). For the next two years Stephen teased me "the buttons still haven't moved".
Stephen became my Peer Coach in February 2008. It was my first year as a manager in a financial services company. Anywhere there is a manager, there is someone...

Dear DeMarco family,
I worked with Stephen for the past 2-1/2 years at TIAA-CREF. Stephen was a very unique person and was so interesting. He had a wealth of knowledge that he gladly shared with others. Stephen entertained us with his stories and there was never a dull moment whenever he was around. It is still hard to think that we will not see him around the office any more. It almost seems like he is on an "extended" vacation playing golf and playing poker somewhere. All of our...
