Not sure what to say?

To the Hardy Family: I went to DeVilbiss HS the same years that Steve did and he was the most unassuming yet impressive man in my graduating class of 1968. He had a quiet confidence and gentle demeanor and was always a gentleman...except when it was time to right a wrong or confront an evil. He was especially good at dressing down a bully and he stood up for me once in our freshman year as I was being harrassed by three older students behind the football stadium after pracitce. He was...

Mr Hardy got me through math in high school and helped me get the math credit I needed to pass. He was a great story teller who spoke often of his family and his children and especially football. Mr Hardy also helped my wife Katelyn pass math as well. We will always remember Mr Hardy as one tough man and a super nice and kind hearted person. We pray that Mr Hardy is welcomed into Gods open arms and he is playing all the football he can in Heaven!! Rest In peace Mr Hardy, Forever...

On behalf of the Stritch family I would like to thank the Hardy family for sharing Steve with us for so many years. He touched hundreds of students lives both in the classroom, and on the athletic fields. He was a tremendous role model in giving unselfishly of his time and talents. Know that you are in our prayers.

There were three great teachers who were in my life through my life. One of which was Mr. Hardy who essentially told me at the time I was too smart to be too lazy. Having that belief always stuck with me to this day. He helped form me in the man I am! My condolences for his family and friends. A great man who will truly be missed. CSHS students appreciate everything you did for all of us. Rest easy.

So sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with your family

I am sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I worked with him at Cardinal Stritch High School where he was well liked and appreciated.

Dear Hardy Family, I am sorry to hear of the loss of Steve. He worked out at Torio´s and was very loved and respected. A big, strong man - tough as they come - but also a kind-hearted person: great combination! God bless

The Jexs send our sincere condolences to Steve's family. Steve and I grew up and together in the same neighborhood, and we went to Bancroft Hills Elementary, Nathan Hale, and then DeVilbiss HS. Steve helped me become a caddy at Inverness, and we were part of a good Nathan Hale football team. The few times they gave me the ball I'd try to follow Steve at right tackle! While Steve was a great athlete at DeVilbiss, I went into music, but we remained close friends and we 'double-dated' to our '68...

JEAN, My heart hurts for u all. It's so hard! Prayers for you with hugs
