Steve was one of my best friends from our time at college in Geneseo, NY. He put me up for a month when I was hitchhiking in 1983, and we spent countless hours on the phone discussing so many topics. He was a deep, compassionate and creative soul. I´m proud that he called me a friend.

I worked with Steve at SLD for many years. I am saddened by his passing. He was an excellent laboratorian and a calm, considerate co-worker. He was also interesting to talk with about nearly any subject. He was a sweet man, my condolences to his family and friends.
