I am Steve and Ann's housekeeper. I have been for many years. I was really sad to hear of Steve's passing. I know he was dedicated to his work and loved his family dearly. To the family I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have interviewed many University of Illinois academic luminaries, but none quite like Steve. His phenomenal research will benefit farmers for years to come. I had looked forward to documenting his honors in October at the World Food Prize in Des Moines, and had visions of interviewing him as a Nobel Laureate someday.
