I had the pleasure and the honor to work with Steve over many years. First at Deloitte and then with NexLevel and Lopez Consulting Group. I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Steve at the Department of Child Support Services. Steve was very articulate and could distill complex technology concepts and workflows into understandable terms for non-technologist. But most importantly, I appreciated his warm, calm, and gentle nature while working side-by-side with him his last couple of work years before he retired.

Steve was a fine gentleman, and one of the smartest and most articulate people I've ever met. He knew a lot about sports, current events, politics, and technology. He was a fun ski partner and we camped in the back of my truck and nearly got blown off Highway 88 by an avalanche. We hiked in Yosemite and attended major-league sports events such as the Oakland As and 49ers. We saw Santana and AC/DC and impressive Fourth of July fireworks.
