From the moment I met Steve he showed many of the great qualities he had as an individual. He always welcomed questions and did not hesitate to assist in whatever way he could. He was a true leader and a great friend.

Words cannot express the sorrow my family and I feel at this time. Steve will always be that neighborhood kid on the move, playing with my son and daughter on Angell. We can only imagine what his wife, mom, and sister are going through, as well as his many family members and close friends. This Memorial Day weekend we thank Stephen, the heroic FBI Special Agent, for serving his country with courage and unselfishness. God bless you, Steve! We send our prayers and thoughts to those left behind who so loved you for your goodness and generous spirit.
With deepest sympathy,

Stephen led an exemplary life, dedicating it to the service and protection of others; with passion, fearlessness, stalwart commitment and humility. His professionalism was balanced by a rare loyalty, compassion and omnipresent humor. He died tragically but doing what he loved and believed in to his very core. His family and friends will always remember his legacy of love and laughter. You will be honored and missed, Stephen Palmer Shaw. We will love and support your family. God speed and safety to your incredible HRT Brothers.

I have many fond memories of sleeping over at "The Shaw Sheraton" (as Steve called it) when we were kids. Steve was a great friend and so fun to be around. Sending love and hugs to the Shaw family.

My heart breaks for you and your family. I met Steve on a number of occasions when he & my late husband, Rick von Meister, worked together at MSD. Steve visited as well as called to check on me & my son after Rick passed away. He was kind, attentive & giving. Always looking out for others. I am so sorry for your loss.

Those of you who read this and know my relationship with Steve was a relationship that only the closeness brothers could have shared; we were inseparable at DSS, Gold's Gym, the gyro shop. I lost touch with Steve over the last several years after DSS and MSD due to a very difficult divorce that Steve and my good friends knew about. Even without contact, my bond with Steve was never from my heart; and with the deep sorrow and regret I carry for losing contact, I know he felt me as much as I felt him. There is a great emptiness and pain in my heart today. God has a new Warrior in his kingdom; a great friend and a man I loved; Shawzie. Thank you for touching my life Steve Shaw. Todd Kmentt; DSS/MSD

RIP Steve. . . You will be sorely missed by your sisters & brothers in arms. You projected a subtle air of confidence, humility, dry wit of humor, intelligence, trustworthiness & zest for everything life has to offer. I have fond memories of our training sessions at the gym & runs all round Orange County, CA wherever work took us & time permitted. You embodied every notable characteristic I admire in an individual, a partner & as a best friend.
