Stephen Umhoefer

I was Fr. Steve´s secretary for 12 years at St. Victor in Monroe, so I knew him as a kind and good man and a very dedicated priest. He touched many lives and will be missed.

He was so kind to my siblings and I when our father died and then later our mother. He was a wonderful priest and will be greatly missed by many.

Steve was my second cousin once removed ( ! ) and we spent many fruitful hours together and by emails, along with other cousins, researching our family genealogy, seeking all the Umhoefers we could find !

I am so sorry to see the news of Fr Umhoefer's passing. He was a young priest at my family's parish, St Thomas Aquinas in Madison, WI. He was so kind and his homilies were so engaging and thought-provoking. May his memory be a blessing.

I was so surprised and sad to hear of Fr. Steve´s passing. It brings me back to my days at Holy Name Seminary, where he was one of my teachers. I have many good memories there; I respected him, and am grateful for the influence he and so many others there have had on my life.

I have fond memories of Father Steve. He was a relative on my Mom´s side, and lived across the street from me during my college days in Madison. Prayers and condolences to Father Steve´s family.
