Stephen Yourchik Obituary
He was born April 4, 1956, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Stephen and Doris Lynn Yourchik, formerly of Clarksville (Pitt Gas).
Mr. Yourchik was a retired coal miner from Emerald Mine, where he worked for 33 years.
He enjoyed working on his family farm, fishing and watching his son play high school football and his daughters play college volleyball and basketball. He was loved by so many.
Mr. Yourchik was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School, where he was an outstanding fullback for the Rocket football championship team.
On October 11, 1980, he married Christine Blair Yourchik, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Shanna (Tip) Meyers of Clarksville and Shelby (Christopher) Jeffrey of Clarksville; a brother, Frank (Kim) Yourchik of Scenery Hill; two sisters, Sandy (Jim) Howard of Clarksville and Pam Yourchik of Clarksville; a niece, Helen (Duane) Dupont of Clarksville; a nephew, James (Michele) Howard of Waynesburg; a great-niece Madison Dupont; two great-nephews, Trey and Ryan Howard; and several other family members.
Mr. Yourchik was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandson from his daughter Shanna, who is due in January.
He was preceded in death and will be greeted in heaven with a big hug by his son, Stevie Yourchik; a sister, Karen Yourchik; and his parents and grandparents.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Home Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, with the Rev. John R. Dorean officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the "Big Steve Memorial Scholarship Fund" at First National Bank, Rices Landing, PA 15357.

I happened to be in seventh grade and lucky enough to be one of the team managers on the 74-75 championship team. All I can say is Heaven needed a yard to keep the drive going. I know 38 got the call for us many times over. RIP Stevie

My heart aches for you all but I know how much you will treasure your memories and strengthen your love through God's grace. We are here for you and we hope you know how we love all of you.
