This mighty oak of a man cast a huge shadow, I suspect the memory of him will cast an even greater one. You were a kind and welcoming soul with a great happy spirit about you. You were always a great teammate and worthy opponent. It has been over 40 years since I last saw you in high school, hopefully it will be 40 or more before we meet again... rest in peace kind man. Sincere condolences to your family.

I knew Steve when he lived in Des Moines, Iowa. He was such a big man, but the biggest part of him was his heart! Rest in peace, my friend. All of my best to the family.

Amazing Steve. Kind, loving and so funny and so smart. My sister Anita, and Steve such a special couple, and what a amazing son, sweet Christopher. One of the most interesting people, you could ever have a conversation with. Steve was charismatic to everyone he met. I am so grateful to have been a part of his life. Our family was richly blessed.
