I am deeply saddened by the news of Steve's passing. As a fellow hang glider pilot, I remember Steve as always looking on the bright side, and always having a practical resolution to any problem. I wish Gretchen and the rest of his family well.

As a childhood friend of Steve's, I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I offer my most heartfelt sympathy to his family. He had recently e-mailed me at my work to see if I was the same person he had grown up with in Pittsburgh. He had found me on "Google". I regret not getting back to him in time.
