I saw Steve & Eydie perform many times. Talented, charming, funny. One of the best voices. They were the best interpreters of the Great American Song Book. A terrible loss. May his memory be a blessing.

I was a United States Army Chorus member from 1956 to 1959, when Steve was the soloist for popular song repertoire with the United States Army Band. I took this photo of Steve with Paul Richards, another member of the Chorus who became a Broadway star following his military service. Steve was not only a great performer but also a great colleague.

As an alumnus of The U.S. Army Chorus 1986-2017, I can tell you that early in my career I heard about some of our many famous alumni, among who was Steve Lawrence, a soloist the The U.S. Army Band 1958 -60. Steve will always be remembered and mentioned with pride by the members of Pershing's Own, The United States Army Band. The towering musical legacy he and Eydie Gorme have left us will never fade from our country's history. Deepest sympathy to their family and friends. Robert...

I just found out that Steve Lawrence passed. We saw Steve and Eydie at the Fox Theater in Detroit, back in the 80's. What a treat! "Portrait of My Love" is my favorite song by Steve. Bless your heart. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. 'Very lucky to have someone as talented as you in my lifetime. R.I.P.
