I'll never forget this gentle man behind the big booming voice that spoke for the betterment of the world. Steve was always there for me whether it was to repair something at my home or at the church when I needed emotional support or simply a hug. What a wonderful man who was always trying to make the world a better place for us all, no matter what gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. The earth has lost a true advocate of quality life.

Steve will always occupy a special place in my heart. He was a wise and encouraging mentor to many. He worked tirelessly to make changes to improve situations in his community and indeed, worldwide. My most memorable interactions with him include the discussion group at Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie, our trip together to Plains, Georgia to see and listen to Jimmy Carter speak at his Sunday School class (Steve's objective was to ask and encourage former President Carter to speak at ...

Steve's legacy will live on in me and the multitude of others who love him. I will forever cherish the opportunity that I had to work side by side with him in several of his selected organizations and programs, to talk with him about issues that mattered, to celebrate his wedding to the spectacular Tracy, to work his magic on my home repair needs, and to comfort me in my time of bereavement.
