Steve G. Smeja, 59, of Crystal Lake was born October 20, 1955 in Chicago to George Smeja and Sandra (Prescott) Montes and passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, March 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife Ruth; children, Kimberly Vasquez and Steven (Rene) Smeja; step-children, Lisa Baron and Mario (Marlene) Slaven; grandchildren, Robert ?RJ? Schroeder, Nathan and Sara Smeja, and Nancy and Joshua; and sisters, Lisa Montes, and Sharon Laboy.
He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Smeja, his sister Robin Burlack, and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4pm until 9pm with a funeral service at 7pm, Friday, March 6 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
Dad I miss you so much. If just a phone call it would be nice and to hear you laugh and see your smile with your beautiful eyes.
I miss going out together and having our talks and going shopping I miss you lecturing me lol but most of all I miss having my dad here
