Not sure what to say?

Sincere condolences to the family. Bruce attended college with Steve & he was best man at our wedding! Bruce & Lois Linde

He was a great teacher and mentor..he is missed by many

Our deepest sympathy to you Kevin and Bryan. The video of your Dad is very touching. What a WonderFULL life he lived. We made a donation in his name to the Alex C Dove Foundation. May he rest in heavenly peace.

We were neighbors in Grimm Hall at University of Wisconsin River Falls. We often would share stories about the great outdoors.

Mr. Baneck was my 5th and 6th grade teacher at Vesper. He had a way of making his students passionate about their work! He truly cared about each student and wanted them to be successful. He brought nature and wildlife into the classroom, which is usually an overlooked subject in schools. He truly made a difference in this world and I feel blessed to have crossed paths with him.

Our sympathies to you Bryan and Kevin. Steve was so generous with his garden. We also had good conversations when he would drop off his venison for Ron! Always had a smile for you.

This really saddens me. What a great man and incredible teacher! I was privileged to have have him as a 6th grade teacher at grant... he always had a great story to tell whenever I would see him. Hell be missed

I'm writing this more as a reminder to all of us, including myself, to make good use of the time we have left.
I've known Steve since his youngest son Kevin was 9 years old. I coached Kevin's soccer team for 2 years. His former spouse was my Team Manager for those 2 years. A few years later his son Bryan was my Assistant Coach for a season for my eldest daughter's team in Stevens Point.
Within the past few months, I've seen Steve every now and again. His house is on my way home...
