Steven Dansky Obituary

Steven Jay Dansky

Nashville - Dansky, Steven Jay, age 69 years, passed away Monday, the 29th of January, 2018. He was born on the 21st of February, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Abe and Ruth Dansky. Steve was a true New Yorker, who moved to Nashville in the early 1980s to start what became a very successful shirt manufacturing business with his father. He then moved into trading Index Options, which he enjoyed as both a business and an educational hobby, of sorts, becoming learned on a wide range of topics from economics to politics. He loved playing golf, especially with his son and his close friends who were like brothers to him. He was a sharp card player; his reputation preceded him in most games, but often he played for the company that was present, particularly in his regular Wednesday night game. He loved to dance, and if you've seen him out there, you know he could move; he had rhythm, and the party was better off with his presence. He loved to tell and hear jokes; anything Larry David was always a roar. To laugh was partly to be himself. Most of all he loved his family; his wife Ellen, who was the ever glowing sun of his universe; his son Maxx, whom he taught so much, all the things he loved, he passed down; his daughter Liza, who warmed his heart more than anything else in the world; and his daughter Lori, whom he admired since the first day she walked into Liza's life. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and many other people who might know him anonymously, but would say, "Oh that guy...I love that guy. He's the greatest"...and he was. Services will be conducted at the West End Synagogue 3810 West End Avenue at one o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January, 31st, 2018 Marshall Donnelly Combs 615-327-1111
