Steven Owen Goffredo passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was 61 years old. He and his wife, Susan (Tinney) were high school sweethearts and celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2020.
Steven was born on October 24, 1959 and was the son of Jean (Owens) Goffredo and the late Michael S. Goffredo.
Steven was raised in Roseto, PA and was a 1977 graduate of Pius X High School, Bangor PA. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with the Pope Pius XII ASM 941 and was also a member of the Father DeNisco Co 3862. Steven had a career in construction spanning over five decades. He was also a police officer with the Roseto Police Department and Stroud Township. When he retired from the police force he blended together his knowledge of police work and construction and formed his construction consulting firm, Sights-On, Inc., which he operated for over 35 years. Steven had many careers in his lifetime but his most-loved job title was father.
Steven lived his life by the simple motto, “Whatever It Takes.”
In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by five children and nine grandchildren; daughter Lindsay and her husband Jarrett Hughes of Pen Argyl, son Steven and his wife Jackie Goffredo of Pen Argyl, daughter Katie and her husband Kevin Dougherty of Quakertown, daughter Kristina and her husband Rob Boccuti of Breinigsville, and son Nico Goffredo of Pen Argyl. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jackson and Parker Hughes; Ella and Steven James Goffredo; Samantha, Riley, and Maggie Dougherty; and Robbie Boccuti. Steven is also survived by his mother Jean Goffredo, brother Michael and his wife Sandy, sister Jeanann and her husband Michael D’Alessio, brother Mark and his wife Jody, brother John Jeff, sister Michelle and her husband Daniel Catino, brother Robert and his wife Sherry, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Michael S. Goffredo, and his father and mother-in-law James and Dena Tinney.
There will be viewing hours, Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4 until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. The funeral service and interment will be private. Due to present Covid-19 guidelines, capacity restrictions, face coverings and social distancing practices will be followed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Immaculate Conception School, 290 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania 18072.
