Steven Goffredo Obituary

Steven Owen Goffredo passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was 61 years old. He and his wife, Susan (Tinney) were high school sweethearts and celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2020.

Steven was born on October 24, 1959 and was the son of Jean (Owens) Goffredo and the late Michael S. Goffredo.

Steven was raised in Roseto, PA and was a 1977 graduate of Pius X High School, Bangor PA. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with the Pope Pius XII ASM 941 and was also a member of the Father DeNisco Co 3862. Steven had a career in construction spanning over five decades. He was also a police officer with the Roseto Police Department and Stroud Township. When he retired from the police force, he blended together his knowledge of police work and construction and formed his construction consulting firm, Sights-On, Inc., which he operated for over 35 years. Steven had many careers in his lifetime but his most-loved job title was father.

Steven lived his life by the simple motto, "Whatever It Takes."

In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by five children and nine grandchildren: daughter, Lindsay and her husband Jarrett Hughes of Pen Argyl; son, Steven and his wife Jackie Goffredo of Pen Argyl; daughter, Katie and her husband Kevin Dougherty of Quakertown; daughter, Kristina and her husband Rob Boccuti of Breinigsville; and son, Nico Goffredo of Pen Argyl. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jackson and Parker Hughes; Ella and Steven James Goffredo; Samantha, Riley, and Maggie Dougherty; and Robbie Boccuti. Steven is also survived by his mother, Jean Goffredo; brother, Michael and his wife Sandy; sister, Jeanann and her husband Michael D'Alessio; brother, Mark and his wife Jody; brother, John Jeff; sister, Michelle and her husband Daniel Catino; brother, Robert and his wife Sherry; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Michael S. Goffredo; and his father and mother-in-law, James and Dena Tinney.

There will be viewing hours, Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4 until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. The funeral service and interment will be private. Due to present Covid-19 guidelines, capacity restrictions, face coverings and social distancing practices will be followed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Immaculate Conception School, 290 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania 18072. Online condolences may be offered at www.ruggierofuneralhome.com.

January 23, 2021

Please accept our heartfelt sorrow to the entire Goffredo family. We are so saddened by your loss. I was well acquainted with Steve during his tenure serving as a Law Enforcement Officer. I learned during that association that he was very kind, compassionate and always eager to assist those in need; it was his nature and in his heart. His motivation was to contribute to the well-being of others and that is surely a portion of the legacy he leaves behind. Steve will most certainly be missed by all, but we must remember, “To live in the hearts left behind is not to die.”
God Bless and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Susan, children and brothers and sisters of Steven,
The loss of Steven is so very difficult to fathom. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and to us a friend that we have known our entire lives.

The legacy of our parents as friends, then passing that friendship down to our generation and we, in turn, doing the same for our children.
Countless happy encounters, shared losses and precious memories through the years. We have been blessed by this family-friendship.

We pray that your profound faith and the closeness of family and friends will provide you the strength you need to carry on in Steven’s memory.
He will never be forgotten...
God Bless all of you.

With love and sincerest sympathy,

Howard and Jeanne Renner
