Not sure what to say?

Dear Arlene, I'm sorry to read about Steve and still have in my memories our last comms after his accident. I really admired him as a friend, colleague, and cycling enthusiast. Such a contagious, positive attitude. I now know why he didn't answer my email before my transalp in 2023, and am very saddened by the news. At the same time, after breaking C6-T1 in 2024, already in pre-op, I had great fear of being unable to deal with the potential outcome like Steve had. I made so many mistakes...

Pardon me if this is late, but I just learned of Steve´s passing from the latest issue of the Air Force Academy Association of Graduates "Checkpoints" magazine. I was one year behind Steve at the Academy, spending my Fourth Class (freshman) year in Cadet Squadron 21 "Blackjacks" where he was a Third Classman (sophomore). For those of you unfamiliar with the Academy experience, the Fourth Class year ends with one final bout of rigorous training known as "Hell Week" (although at that time it...

Steven I will never forget you you will always be in my heart I will remember you as a little boy and what a wonderful and talented man you grew up to be you are now at peace Love you always Sherry

So sad. I knew Steve as we were members of the same cadet squadron at the US Air Force Academy although I was in the class a year behind his. He was such a kind and caring individual and leader and a great role model. RIP, Steve.

Steve was a true champion and will forever be remembered by the Christian Activity Center. I salute you Steve and Arlene. In Jesus Name!

So sorry to hear of Steves passing. The world could certainly use more like him. Even through Gary's dementia fog he recognized Steve's picture and said "that's Steve, he's a good guy". He's left lasting impressions on all he's met. Thank you Arlene and family for the loving care and support you provided Steve these last years. We'll be praying for your peace and strength in the coming days. Carol and Gary

Here´s a toast...to Steve King Brilliant but humble Physically formidable but the most gentle man Leader, mentor, friend and inspiration to those fortunate to have made his acquaintance Proud son, husband, father, grandfather Steve left an indelible mark and will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I enjoyed sharing a bike trip in 2017.

Steve was always such a cheerful and positive person. I fondly remember fun dancing and golf outings. And I´m so happy he introduced us to the Christian Activity Center and I will continue to support it honor of Steve. My prayers are with Arlene and the family. May God support you.
