Not sure what to say?

I knew the McDowells as a child and I tell the story of Steven losing fishing poles to a mysterious fish named Thunder. I was thinking of the McDowells while telling of ole Thunder and google sadly led me here I sure hope Steven's made peace with that fish.:-)

Had many a laughs and a few beers a long time ago, with Steve. Life is so short and fragile. Always remember his smile! Steve may you rest in peace, my friend.

Steve and his family were such an important fixture in my youth. Countless memories flood back upon hearing the sad news of his passing. Our unique friendship that crossed the city boundries of school districts, our summers spent playing baseball, the friends we made and shared, our birthdays only a day apart and the times we celebrated together. Memories of a great friend and great times shared. My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.

Met you long time ago. I´m still there. You´re still here.

Kim and I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Googan, Irene and family. We have been traveling with intermittent internet access since August and were shocked and saddened to hear of Steven's death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

I remember Steve from elementary school through jr high(lowell scott) he had the hot car. The only jr high kid to have a car. I did not know him in adult life, as I moved away but I do remember him well. Condolences to all family....Tim Reid

I went to high school with Steve and enjoyed watching the basketball team. I moved away after high school but often thought about the people that affected my life back then. Steve was a great guy. My condolences to his family.

I had the great pleasure of calling Steve my friend. Since 7th grade, Steve was always there for his pals. One of the most giving people I have ever known. Even with long periods in our life that we would not see each other, he was always ready with an offer to help. He was loved and many and will be missed by all. Rest in peace my friend.
