It sadden me to hear of Mr. Steve's passing. I meet Mr. Steve and Ms. Lavon through my father Lonnie Carter, when you all lived in front on 41st and Reynolds Street (many years ago). Those were the GOOD DAYS! My dad did cookouts and Mr. Steve as I called him always came over with a smile on his face and a hug for everyone. I can even recall seeing him downtown (taking his daily scroll) with the most pleasant smile on his face saying, "hey baby doll how is daddy...
