ATTENTION TO ORDERS

It has been brought to my attention that 2nd Ranger Company lost another member on 13 March 2017

The Supreme Jumpmaster has seen fit to manifest Ranger Strothers, Stewart W. for his final jump. Ranger Strothers was a replacement medic assigned to 2nd Ranger Infantry Company (Airborne) during the Korean War, he earned his jump wings in Korea, in a Airborne school operated by 2nd Ranger Company and he participated in the unit's most critical battle, Hill 581....

Ranger Stewart W. Strothers was, is and will always be an important part of African American military history. During the Korean War, Ranger Strothers was assigned to 2nd Ranger Infantry Company (Airborne) as a medic, ( America's only All Black Ranger Company) although he missed the first ever Airborne Ranger combat parachute assault, he did participate in one of the most daring battles that 2nd Ranger Company (Airborne) was involved in, the Battle of Hill 581. My father in law was one the The Greatest men in my life. My Son, his Grandson shared a special relationship. His Papa was is role model. My father in law always will me missed but never forgotten. He will be forever remembered!

Such a wonderful person. He was my Professor at Coastal many years ago. Very caring person. So sorry for your loss. God bless.

A wonderful man and great leader for the Forestbrook community. He was instrumental in helping to establish the Horry County Fire Department.

Stu was one of the kindest men I have ever known! He was such a good guy to serve on the Forestbrook Board with for so long. I will truly miss him!

Mr. Strothers was much admired and a wonderful community leader. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
Eddie Batten, Forestbrook

He was a wonderful neighbor and good friend. Our children loved Mr. Stu and Ms. Doris and our family mourns his passing.

I was saddened to learn of Stu's passing. He was my first supervisor when I began my career at Coastal Carolina in 1987. He was always very kind and helpful. After 30 years, I still remember his encouragement and support for a young instructor. I will keep a good thought for all in the coming days.
