Not sure what to say?

Stuart gave me great confidence in my ability to write. He was very encouraging to a new writer.

Fernando: I am so very sorry for your loss. Though I was only worked with you both for a few months, you and Stuart left an enormous impression on me. You made a wonderful team together and made the Daily Press so much more welcoming as a result. Stuart was a tireless writer and tenacious about details. I'm sure he brought every ounce of that to battling his illness, as well. All my best.

Stuart changed my life when he took notice of a poem I once wrote in high school and he interviewed me for his column when I thought my writing had no promise. I am thankful for having had the opportunity to encounter his warm soul.

What an incredible man! We loved his column in the paper. The first time he mentioned my name, I was so excited. His intelligence was astounding. Fernando, I'm so sorry. He will be missed by all.

Stuart made this world a better place. We are all better people for have knowing him.

Stuart was my fellow features writer partner at the Daily Press, a dear friend, and collaborator on our novel, "Clarissa, Or the Joy of Reading Other People's Mail." An extraordinary man, to say the least. We will never see his like again. Sarah Crowley Baxter, Lewistown, MT.

Stuart, you were the kindest, most loving and smartest man I've ever known. I feel so honored that your last words to me were "I love you." I love you too. Take care of Wyatt for me till I get there.

He was one of a kind. Wonderful, wonderful wit with a depth of understanding. Can't wait to read the great american novel
