Not sure what to say?

I learned only yesterday of Stu's death, in the Loyola College alumni magazine. We were classmates in Loyola's class of '66, and this news shocks and saddens me. Stu was a great scholar and a lovely person, and his death came much too early in his life. My sincere condolences to his wife Shelley, his brother Marty, and his whole family.

Dear Shelley, Steve e-mailed me to let me know about Stuart's death, needless to say we are shocked and saddened by the news. You were so nice to have us over for the evening when we were visiting DC. It was an honor to meet your daughter and Stuart and to be guests in your home. God Bless you with love from Priscilla and Graeme

I was Dr. Rochester's student at Loyola College, now many years ago. He was a wonderful, engaging lecturer and even better as a mentor who prepared me well for graduate study in history. I am so sorry to learn of his death, which comes much too soon.

I was shocked to hear of Stuart's passing. Although we had lost contact, I fondly remember playing basketball with him back in the 80's. He was a fierce yet kind competitor and I always enjoyed our post game chats.

Stuart saved my project and my career. He was always supportive of my work and I appreciated the all-too-brief time I did it under him. I will miss him greatly, as will all who knew him.

Shelley, Molly and family,

I was so surprised when I heard of Stuart's death. I only have fond memories of having worked with him at the Pentagon in the Historian's office years ago. Please accept my sincere heartfelt sympathy on his loss. I trust that you will be comforted by the precious memories of his life and the years that God allowed you all to share with him.

Heartfelt condolences from the community of United States Air Force veterans and from Ron Resh, Coordinator of the Strategic Air Command Memorial Project. We enjoyed sharing our thoughts and experiences with Stuart, who understood and appreciated our pride in service.

Stuart will be greatly missed by this community which has been the beneficiary of his knowledge and civic action for many years. I will miss a friend. My condolences to family and friends.

My sincere condolences. He will be missed by all, especially the civic community, including Allied Civic Group.
