Susan Hutchinson Obituary

Susan Hutchinson
12/04/1946 - 07/04/2025
Susan Elaine (McReynolds) Hutchinson, 78, passed away on July 4th, 2025, surrounded by her family. Susan was born to Bethel and Ernest McReynolds on December 4, 1946, in Ft. Worth, TX. She loved her childhood and growing up in a musical family. She graduated from Paschal High School '65 and TCU '70. Susan is survived by her sisters: Bethel Stevens, Barbara and Bill Pattison, her sister-in-law Vicki Richards, her children: Sally and Gerard Martir, Ed Hutchinson, Linda Sperandio, and her grandchildren: Siri, Zoe, Ryan, Adrien, Sophie, and Sebby. Susan was reunited in Heaven with her husband of 41 years, Art Hutchinson, both of her parents, her brother Mike, and brother-in-law Benny.

Susan made the world a better place, and was put on the Earth to teach. She taught secondary education in HISD for over 30 years, where she was dedicated to her students and their successes. Special shout out to her Roses friend group. She loved y'all!

Susan brought joy and beauty to the lives around her. She was an incredible gardener, was well-traveled, and flew small planes. Susan decorated for every holiday, threw great parties and holiday gatherings, and played loud music. As GrammiSue, she hosted fun sleepovers for her grandkids and loved them profusely. She bought her family boxed seats to The Nutcracker for years. She created jeweled treasure chests for friends and teachers, as well as jeweled jewelry boxes. Susan was generous, well-loved, and knew everything about everything.

Susan requested no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to your favorite charity (hers were St. Jude’s and the Houston Food Bank), or take your family out for the day.
