Merced, California - Susan Moreno, loving wife and mother, devoted grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at the age of 67.
Sue was born on September 23, 1954, in Weston, WV to Richard and Maryanne Humphries. She grew up in Canton, OH. After graduating high school, she joined the U.S. Navy as Hospital Corpsman, where she trained for four years as an LVN and a Respiratory Therapist. While in the Navy, she met her soulmate and best friend, Henry Moreno. They were married on May 31, 1980 in Merced, CA. They had two children, Chris and Carmen.
Sue worked as a respiratory therapist at Mercy Hospital for several years before starting her own medical supply company. She touched the lives of so many through her work, and was proud to serve her community and make a positive difference. Sue was also an artist and an author who always found a way to express her creativity and bring beauty into the world around her. She loved all kinds of music and loved to dance, and she loved singing to her grandson. She cared deeply for her family, and was a doting grandmother. She was strong, kind hearted, and caring, and led a life full of laughter, love, and light.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Richard, her mother, Maryanne, her brother, Marvin, and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her husband, Henry, her son, Chris, her daughter, Carmen, and her grandson, Henry.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Stratford & Evans Funeral Home in Merced at 11 o'clock a.m., with a reception to follow at 12 o'clock p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Flowers or donations may be sent to Stratford & Evans at 1490 B Street, Merced, CA.
