Sylvia Mae Doerner (Glass), 90, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home on February 15, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Anna Elizabeth (Lynn) Glass Sr, born in 1933 in Sadieville, Kentucky.
Preceding her in passing were her parents, her 5 siblings: Clarence T. Glass, Alfred B. Glass, Juanita G. Rutledge (Glass), Gordon Glass Jr and Wade W. Glass as well as her husbands Clarence J. Rinckel, Jr and Frederick L. Doerner.
She will be remembered and loved by her children F. Vaughn (Joan) Doerner and Anna ‘Andie’ L. Doerner; 7 grandchildren Megan L. (Matt LaRiccia) Hartman, Anna E. (Eli) Jones, Kendra J. (Trevor) Fry, Katherine ‘Kaytee’ L. Doerner, Frederick ‘Fred’ L. (Ashley) Doerner II, Carrie L. Doerner and Holland W. Doerner; 3 great grandchildren Christian, Luke, and Loretta and 1 arriving in April; sisters-in-love Mary Ann Glass and Norma J Glass; many beloved & adored nieces and nephews; daughter-in-love Libby (Martin) Pitcher; and chosen children-in-love Ann Williams, Mitzie (Tim) Henson, Jeff Werts, Glenn Gammell and Werner Wischerath.
Sylvia graduated from Sadieville High School, went to secretarial school in Cincinnati and later achieved her Associates Degree in Nursing from Raymond Walters College (University of Cincinnati). During her Nursing career she touched many lives and hearts. She served in several areas and at several facilities where she was honored by being respected and adored by many of her work family.
With a steadfast love of family she enjoyed many of her favorite pastimes: spending time making memories & reminiscing about the past, playing card games, attending horse races, gardening and rock collecting.
She lives on in the hearts of those who love her and we will gather for a Celebration Of Life Saturday March 9, 2024, 1:30 to 4:30pm, at Gano Baptist Church 212 Bevins Lane, Georgetown, Kentucky. Please note that we will also include the life of Sylvia’s dear sister, Juanita, who passed in 2020 and was not able to be celebrated due to COVID and Sylvia’s health.
Memorial contributions in Sylvia’s honor are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati PO Box 633597 Cincinnati, Ohio 45263.
