I am sorry I was unable to be at the graveside to say my final farewell to my friend and colleague. His guidance and encouragement meant a lot me and a Iearned much from him about both careful reading and concise and clear writing. May his memory be for a blessing.

I knew David for almost my whole life, and found him to be a mountain of a man despite his modest stature. Dr. Brent had a deep love of knowledge, spirituality, and humanity which he shared liberally with anyone brave enough to get past his occasionally gruff persona.
