Not sure what to say?

I first met Dermot in the mid 1980s . I was a young investment analyst doing research on Sealed Air. I was so fortunate to be able to interview him and he was so gracious with his time. In my 40 years in the investment business I have never met any company executive who gave me such a high level of confidence in their ability to operate their business for all stakeholders: shareholders, employees, suppliers, and the communities they operated in. Dermot is the definition of Leadership. My...

I am saddened to hear of Dermot´s passing. He was my champion during a challenging time, and I valued our friendship and his guidance. We served on a Board together and visited each other´s companies and shared experiences to help our organizations grow and be more successful. He was an exceptional person, a visionary leader, and a pioneer in business strategy. He will be missed.

After I joined the company in Danbury in 1987 as a mere lab technician, Dermot made it a point to welcome me aboard personally when he visited us. I will never forget his crazy plaid pants at the Christmas party every year. A fine, polite gentleman, and I'm sorry for the family's loss.

My deepest sympathies to Dermot's family and friends. This world has lost a man that we need today. A brilliant man filled with compassion for others. I always looked to him as a mentor and had the privilege to work with him on both the "I have A Dream" mentor program and opening the store in Jersey City. I will greatly miss him!

I joined Instapak in 1974 and had the pleasure of meeting Dermot shortly after we were acquired by Sealed Air later that decade. My relationship with SAC lasted an improbable 40 years. He was an incredible businessman while always nurturing a kindred spirit. What a wonderful human being to know and learn from. So many owe so much to Dermot for how he improved the human condition. Whether it was a business situation or a community service project he always left it better than he found it....

I joined Sealed Air in 1980, Iremember Demot as a great leader that cared greatly about not just the company but the employees on the front lines.

My sincere condolences. I worked for Dermott for 14 years as President of Sealed Air Canada (1979-1993)and my respect and admiration for him was without equal. He was a wonderful and inspiring teacher and at the end of the day there was no one better to share a cocktail with and to enjoy his marvellous sense of humour. He will be missed.

Dermot allow us to have a worship service before a national meeting and I had the privilege of preaching. It was a thrill for me that he really enjoyed the service.

What an amazing and humble man. Lucky to have known him though for a very short time. Always cheerful, and seemed to live a happy life. Well done you good & faithful. God's speed.
