Not sure what to say?

Just seeing this place to share. I´m reading through Taylor´s verses to a mutual friend who I helped look after in her last years. He knowing her forever, sent uplifting letters and poems for her reading and her memories. They sustained us all. Thankful I got to know this kind and generous person the last few years of his life. Rest in peace. Never forgotten. Blessings.

Great man

I remember his kindness while in grad school at UMASS Boston. I corresponded with him after I went to Canada for my ph. D. I still have the texts we studied in his seminar. What a kind and generous man and teacher.

Taylor was a great teacher, mentor, and friend. His love and commitment to humanity and his students was infectious. He saw potential in me that changed my life. I became a teacher because of him and hope I have had the impact on students that he did on me. I think of him often and will always cherish my relationship with him and UMass Boston.

He is very friendly and helpful. He loves Chinese poems. I remember that he said he liked Chinese Qingming Festival because it is the festival to remember the ancestors.

Getting this inbox notice of a new entry on Taylor's page is such a lovely reminder of Taylor. Not that I need reminding -- I think of him often, and always when I'm in Cambridge, which at this age slowly (or not so slowly) empties of people I have loved and still do love. Such a wonderful man, and such a wonderful friend.

I did not 'know' Taylor, but in seeing him speak in the documentary on Paul Goodman, I got a sense of his humanity, class, and compassion. I looked him up to see if I could meet him. Sad to say, no. My late condolences for this lovely human.

Taylor was a great man. No more to say.

Tonight I went to google one of my favorite professors from my time at UMASS Boston, and here I find his obituary. I took at least four classes of his classes in 2 years, which speaks to how much I enjoyed him as a professor. Somedays, if I was lucky I would see him on the shuttle or the T, and I loved our chats.
I think of him as a Mr. Rogers because he was so kind in his teachings. Yet, the stories from his past make him seem like he was too much of an activist to be a Mr. Rogers....
