Terry Garrett Obituary
Knoxville, TN
Terry Richard Garrett, Sr., 67, of Knoxville, TN, went to be with his Lord on October 17, 2016 with his family by his side. He courageously fought cancer for over two years never losing his spirit or faith. Waiting in Heaven for him are his parents: father, Gene Garrett and mother, Hattie Garrett; granddaughter, Jaylen Dean Garrett. Terry is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Terry, Jr. (Shayla), Chris (Tina) and James (Cindy), Monica Briggs; grandchildren, Abbie , Brandon, Zack, Amber, Cameron, Jordan, Bradley, Paige and Kenzie; brother, Sonny Garrett; sister, B.J. (Jim) Gossage; several nieces and nephews.
Terry enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He was known by many as "Mr. Fix-it", often coming to the aid of those who needed a helping hand. Most of all, Terry enjoyed his role as "Papaw" and spending time with his many grandchildren. He was an active member at First Apostolic Church of Knoxville. Terry served as Shop Supervisor at Baptist hospital for several years and ended his career at Tennova in Turkey Creek.
Visitation will be from 5:30–7:30 Wednesday at First Apostolic Church with service to follow. Bishop Billy McCool officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45, Thursday at Bookwalter Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. Condolences welcome at www.weaverfuneralservices.com Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home.

Terry was a kind and gentle man, with a true love for the Lord and his family. This was evident in the way he presented his self at work. I worked with Terry at Baptist and it was my pleasure to have known such an honorable man. I pray for peace for his family in this time of loss.

Terry was a great man he always had a smile for you and he was truly the go to man, I always knew if I needed something done he was the man, with that sweet smile and his I'll get done gal. I was sorry to hear of Terry's passing but he lived his faith and we know all is well for him now. My prayers are with you and the entire family. I feel truly blessed to have known and worked with Terry for so many years his smile and laughter are memories I will cherish forever.

I will always remember Terry's smile and laugh, it fills every childhood memory I have of him. His ebullient spirit, his kindness to and concern for others fills my adult memories of him. Prayers and love to you and your family, Pat. May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

Brother Terry, I know you are loving walking on streets of Gold, healed and whole. I can only imagine the sights, sounds and smells where you are - reunited with Jaylen and so many others. You will surely be missed by your family and friends. We will keep Sister Pat and your family in our prayers.
