Not sure what to say?

I am happy to have been friends with Terry since 1989. She was a wonderful example for me. She never gossiped about other people or put anyone down. She was always turning thoughts and actions towards the positive. She was so much fun to be with.
In July, Terry and Terry came to visit us in Louisiana on their way to Austin. We had a wonderful time eating "Cajun-Italian" food and searching for live music around town. Terry never complained about the talent (or lack of), she was just...

My wife and I just returned home from the funeral and services for Terry. It was deeply moving to see the outpouring of compassion and support for the Sikes family from Ed White School and the community.
I thought it was an incredible service. We have known Terry and Terry for over 13 years. When we lived in Jacksonville, they were our closest friends and we had many enjoyable outings with them. Terry loved to tell us her new "dumb-blonde" jokes, and they both kept us guessing with...

Dear Terry,J.J., and the Sikes family, Terry was one of the first people that I met when I started teaching at Landon in 1984. She and I were across the hall from each other for four years. She and I shared many good times at faculty partys and on planning days. She always had a kind word for everyone that she knew. Even when she went to Ed White and I went to Sandalwood, we kept in touch. She was always faithful about calling me when the band was going to play on the weekend. Terry, I know...

When I was informed of Mrs Sikes death I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to think that one of life's precious gifts of truth, love and acceptance that lived through every breath of her was now gone. She cared about all of her students and it truly upset her when one of them did not live out there potenial. She always inspired hope for our future and made sure we knew that we could do anything. No matter how busy she was she always made time to listen to our problems, and she always...

Mrs Sikes was truly a wonderful person. I never had the pleasure of being in any of her classes at Ed White, but I had a chance to be involved with her through student council. It is such a tradgedy to see her go so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. She has made such a difference in the lives of students at Ed White and she will be truly missed.
Brianna Jefferson Class of 2001

I was fortunate to have Mrs. Sikes for English at Landon Jr. High. She will always be remembered as a teacher who cared about her students. My heart goes out to her family, friends, students and colleagues who lost such a special person. I also feel for those who will never have their lives touched by her due to her untimely passing.

Mrs. Sikes was my English I Honors teacher. Not only was she there for my first year of high school, but my first year as a member of a public school. After spending nine years on a Baptist school, coming to Ed White caused me to go through a severe culture shock. Though I had made many new friends, I really did not feel comfrtable talking to them about what I was going through. I remember going to English class early everyday and talking to Mrs. Sikes, if only about what happened the day...

Mrs. Sikes is by far the best teacher any student could have. I always felt sorry for the students that were not lucky enough to have her as a part of their high school year. She seen potential in every one of her students and didn't dare let them leave that door until they knew it. She devoted her life to us. Even when she wasen't my teacher anymore...she still popped up occasionally. She always shopped at Roosevelt Publix, which is where I worked through school. She always greeted me...

We all will remember Mrs. Sikes as a really great teacher, but she was so much more than that. I feel so blessed to have had her all through high school for yearbook. I was given the chance to experience her warmth. She was the person who sincerly cared about everone she came in contact with. She always showed concern for you. She always showed intrest in me and my life. The absolute best thing about her besides her gummi-worm brownies, was the fact that she was one of the very few people who...
